Analyze Dream: Alien

I like Dream Sleep’s analysis of a dream in which an alien abducts you. There’s a humorous irony in Craig Hamilton-Parker‘s dream interpretation. He points out that since you have awakened wherever it was you fell asleep (likely your bed in your bedroom), you have NOT been abducted by the alien in your dream. Therefore, it follows that likely the alien in your dream has a symbolic rather than real meaning. Here’s the first paragraph of the delightful article, Alien Dream Meaning:

Psychological meaning: Given that you have not been adducted during the night, to dream of an alien indicates that you have encountered part of the psyche which is unfamiliar to you. You may feel that this ‘unfamiliar’ part of yourself is hostile or an enemy. Your first step should be to find out what this ‘foreign’ part of yourself is and get to know this neglected aspect of yourself.

More Dream Interpretation: Alien

What if you dream that two aliens enter your bedroom as you sleep, that this has happened before, and they take you away for a while? Have you been abducted? Or is it just a dream? If so, what does it mean?

I like the U.K. website’s Uncle Sir Bobby’s extensive article on the alien dream symbol based on the analysis of many actual dreams. The article begins:

ALIENS : Aliens tend to link to thoughts and feelings which are totally unfamiliar. You maybe about to enter a strange new world – maybe a new job or social situation. Also people maybe behaving in ways that are totally alien to your way of thinking.

QUESTIONS to help you make associations(pick the one that makes most sense to you)
    – Do you feel different from everyone around you?
    – Are you about to start something but simply have no idea what to expect?
    – Has someone started behaving in a way that is really very different to what is expected?

Based on Uncle Sir Bobby’s article, I would imagine that the above alien dream would refer to thoughts and feelings that are totally unfamiliar to the dreamer or that the dreamer is about to enter a totally unfamiliar experience such as a job or relationship change. That he or she has previously had unfamiliar experiences or thoughts or feelings. And since the aliens in the dream take away the dreamer but will return him or her, there is an assurance in the dream that life will soon return to normal.

Dream Interpretation: Alien Encounter

Ever had a dream about an alien? How about shaking hands with an alien that’s been hiding behind your window curtain? Would you wake up in a panic? I would.

According to Dream Moods, dreaming of an alien means:

To see aliens in your dream, signify that you are having difficulties adapting and adjusting to your new surroundings. You are feeling “alienated” and disconnected. You may also be having difficulties with how to handle or deal with a certain situation or person. On a psychological level, seeing aliens represent an encounter with an unfamiliar or neglected aspect of your own self.

Bridge Dream Interpretations

A bridge dream usually provide a connection between one thing and another. It could be a connection with where you are and where you want to be. Therefore, the bridge dream will be about a decision you’ve made, usually the day before you had the dream. Or, a bridge dream could also be about a connection between you and another person. Hence, it could refer to a relationship. Often, the bridge dream will tell you about the outcome of your decision or relationship.

Crossing a Bridge Dream Continued Interpretations . . .

Here are more dream interpretations for “crossing a bridge.” By the way, I keep a dream journal and pay especial attention to dream interpretation because I first met my husband in a dream. The story is in my book When We Were Gods.

Here’s more info on “crossing a bridge.” I include links to the dream interpretation articles because I only include a succinct condensation here.

Dream: End of the Movie

Last night, I had a dream in which I was putting together pieces of video film footage to create the end of the movie.

When I awoke, I wondered if this could mean that I was near the end of my own personal movie, my life.

If I had not actually been editing a movie, this could have been a dream interpretation, or anyway, if not the end of my life, the end of something in my life.

However, because I am actually putting together the Yucatan Travel Movie, and have just finished the first draft, it is more likely that the dream is actually referring to something I need to do to the end of the movie.

This is my dream interpretation: In my dream, the video footage at the end of the movie had to do with images of Jeeves and Wooster, a humorous British comedy I had been watching before I went to bed. At the end of each Jeeves and Wooster episode, there is music playing.

I had one of those “Ah Hah” moments when I realized that I yet need to add video footage to the end of the movie. I have promised the wonderful composers who have allowed me to use their fantastic original music in the Yucatan Travel Movie that I will acknowledge their contributions to the movie in the end credits. I plan to do this with actual video footage of them playing selections from the music I have used.

So, now, I know what I will be doing today: working on the end of the end of the Yucatan Travel Movie. I am excited because this will be fun! Also, I really appreciate the fantastic music I have been able to use.
