Atlantis find touted as greatest discovery in world history

“This is probably the greatest discovery in World history”, was stated by Maxine Asher, the co-director of a scientific expedition that found Atlantis at the bottom of the ocean, reported United Press International and major newspapers in the United States during the summer of 1973. UPI continued that “Maxine Asher said that scuba divers found data to prove the existence of the super-civilization which legend says sank beneath the sea thousands of years ago”.

So starts a long and comprehensive online article, Atlantis – Lost City of Atlantis real or just a fable? by a blogger who identifies himself as a male Gemini from Hyperabad, India.

I love articles such as this one because they show the many discoveries hailed as “Atlantis” over the years, this one in 1973. So far, unfortunately, none of the claims of “Atlantis found” has panned out to be the lost continent.

Still, a very interesting and comprehensive article including many references to Sitchin’s work about extra terrestrials creating and using humans.

Top 10 Unexplained Phenomenon

I felt a little let down when I read Live Science‘s list of Top 10 Unexplained Phenomenon because it included such broad and well-known topics as:

      1. The mind/body connection including the placebo effect

      2. Psychic powers and ESP

      3. Near-death experiences and life after death

      4. UFOs

      5. Deja vu

      6. Ghosts

      7. Mysterious disappearances

      8. Intuition

    9. Bigfoot

I also felt disappointed because the list did not include crop circles and orbs.

However, when I got to Number 10, I felt a jolt of delight because they actually did list something I had never heard of before.

A planetary nebula, an extraterrestrial … or what?

What is the image? A planetary nebula photographed by the Hubble Space Telescope? A one-eyed extraterrestrial in a puffy spacesuit, floating over the colorfully glowing console of its spaceship? Or what?

A nebula, an extraterrestrial ... or what?

One glowing eye peers through the spacesuit of an extraterrestrial floating over the console of its spaceship ... or is it a planetary nebula ... or what?

Or, could it be the outdoor lights on my boxwood shrubs under the worst snowstorm on the Mid-Atlantic Coast in 30 years!

Dogon mythology about Nommos aliens from Sirius B

An online article called The Dogon, the Nommos and Sirius B, describe the aspects of the dogon mythology on the extraterrestrials from Sirius:

According to their oral traditions, a race people from the Sirius system called the Nommos visited Earth thousands of years ago. The Nommos were ugly, amphibious beings that resembled mermen and mermaids. They also appear in Babylonian, Accadian, and Sumerian myths. The Egyptian Goddess Isis, who is sometimes depicted as a mermaid, is also linked with the star Sirius.

This article also brings up the possibility that these myths are not accurate, for example, that Sirius B, one of the stars in the Sirius system, once occupied the location our sun occupies now. According to science, this is impossible. Furthermore, the dogon believe that it takes Sirius B 60 years to orbit Sirius. However, they celebrate the Sirius B orbit every 50 years. It doesn’t make sense.

Dogon Skeptics

On November 12th I wrote about the Dogon tribe in Western Africa. They supposedly knew that Sirius was part of a multiple sun system, information they learned from an ancient visit from extraterrestrials from the Sirius star system.

American astronomer and astrophysicist Carl Sagan agreed with author Robert Temple (The Sirius Mystery) that the 100,000 member Dogon must have been influenced by a technologically advanced society to know about Sirius and its companion sun. However, Sagan thought the technologically advanced society had been visitors from other areas of the earth where knowledge about the Sirius star system had been discovered according to the online article Dogon and Sirius.

Dogon Tribe in Africa have memories of extraterrestrial visitors from Sirius

Have you heard of the Sirius Mystery and the Dogon Tribe? It was popularized in a book of the same name by Robert K. G. Temple in which he wrote about the Dogon tribe of Western Africa. French explorers in the 1930s discovered that the Dogon have an ancestral memory of amphibious extratestrials who taught them that Sirius, the brightest star in the sky, is actually three companion stars.

Hoax Crop Circle

A Hoaxed Crop Circle

The "Egg Slicer" Crop Circle is Reportedly a Hoax

According to visitors to the “Egg Slicer” Crop Circle, they can tell that it is a hoax because:

  • The length of the stalks of wheat inside the Crop Circle is the same as the length of the stalks of wheat outside the “Egg Slicer”
  • The lines on the outside of the “Egg Slicer” Crop Circle are uneven when you look at them up close whereas in genuine Crop Circles, the outside lines are smooth
  • Visitors also found covered up post holes used to create the semi-circles in the middle of the “Egg Slicer”

Evidently, Crop Circles photos are big business in making calendars, post cards, DVDs, and for tour groups. Therefore, although there were a few “genuine” (not sure what the definition of a “genuine” Crop Circle is) in 2010, this “Egg Slicer” and many other hoaxes in 2010 have been created to satisfy the insatiable demand of the public for Crop Circle photographs.

I must admit I do love looking at them . . . even though hoaxes, if this “Egg Slicer” truly is a hoax!

For more information on the “Egg Slicer” Crop Circle above, go to Steve Beckow’s Example of a Crop Circle Hoax on his The 2012 Sceneario blog site.

  • The Quetzalcoatl’s Headdress Crop Circle

Quetzalcoatl\'s Headdress (Click on the link to the left to take you to the You Tube video of Quetzalcoatl’s Headdress.)

If you’re interested in Crop Circles, such as the one in the You Tube video called Quetzalcoatl’s Headdress, there are some interesting online discussions about this particular crop circle (with opinions for and against them being man made) at UFO Spy.

Quetzalcoatl’s Headdress appeared near Silbury Hill in the county of Wiltshire, England.

Now that we have rockets, are UFOs no longer speedy?

Here’s an interesting observation. In 1947, unidentified flying objects (UFOs) created a sensation because of their speed. It was later in that same year that Chuck Yeager first broke the sound barrier.

Today, we have not only experienced flight faster than the speed of sound, but the supersonic Concorde has even been retired.

It turns out that today, people are impressed with a UFO if it levitates, something our aircraft cannot do without the help of rotors (helicopters) or rocket engines (NASA’s shuttle).

Does this mean that UFOs are truly a figment of our collective imagination? In his TPM The Philosopher’s Magazine article, Martin S. Kottmeyer says:

“No. Strictly, it only proves that there is a cultural dimension in our assumptions about what constitutes the behaviour of a flying saucer. People do not report everything that is present in the sky but select only what is presumed to be interesting. What is interesting changes year to year, decade to decade, century to century.”

Why have UFOs changed speed over the years?
