Are we in Mercury Retrograde?

I have to remember this so when Mercury Retrograde begins in September, I will be aware that the internet and internet communications via email can be totally a disaster and impossible even when Mercury is NOT Retrograde.

I made the mistake of upgrading my browser to Windows Internet Explorer 8. Oh woe! I should have left things the way they were. Now, every time I open a new page, I get a window saying that there’s some problem and do I want to proceed? Of course I want to proceed!!!

Then, I can’t get into emails the normal way and have to use a circuitous route saying “OK” every time the “something is not right, do you want to proceed” box comes up.

Then, when I get to my mail, there is no “Squirrel Mail,” which is what I use so I click on “Horde” and there is nothing in the folder except for one after another file saying that the mail delivery system is returning the message to the sender.

Is this a virus? Funny, it did not begin until I upgraded to 8. The same thing happened when I upgraded Symantec. It wiped out various toolbars I was using and I can’t get them back.

I guess I could try calling Microsoft about my problems with Explorer. I hate to do that because there is the fear that I will end up talking with someone in a foreign country who is very polite, is obviously reading off a monitor, and can’t help me. I have also talked to a fast-talking geek at MS.

What do I do!!! People will think I have not answering their emails when I am actually trying to. I guess I will have to call someone and take my chances that they actually know what to do and also have the ability to communicate it. Scary.

Sagittarius and the Galactic Center

Since the last two days’ posts have been about the Galactic Center, I also wanted to include some information excerpted from the following web site; namely, that the Galactic Center is not only in the astrological sign of Sagittarius, but that it is “referred to by scientists as Sagittarius A.”

Situated in Sagittarius(of both the sidereal and tropical zodiacs), the Galactic center is postulated by scientists to be a massive black hole the size of a large star and with the density of several million suns. Its luminous, compact, and star-forming center is referred to by scientists as Sagittarius A and is a powerful source of radio waves. The galactic center is best viewed in the southern hemisphere.

Musical Chairs in Mercury Retrograde

Here’s an entertaining true story that contains many of the elements of a typical Mercury Retrograde scenario: Travel, Communications, Delays, Frustrations and the need for Patience and a Sense of Humor.

My son, daughter-in-law, and their three-year-old daughter went to the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) on Saturday to renew Driver’s Licences (travel). When they got there, as was to be expected on a Saturday, the building was full of people. However, there was something wrong with the heating system of the building. It was so hot that everyone was sweating (frustrations). In an attempt to cool things down, the DMV employees had turned the ceiling fans on to high. The fans were turning so fast that the stifling hot building was full of wind causing people’s hair to blow in the breeze (need for a sense of humor).

On top of all that, the electronic message boards (communications) had gone on the fritz (delays and frustration). Normally, a person takes a number as they walk in the door and sits down to wait their turn on one of the chairs arranged in rows. When their number is displayed on the message board they go to one of six tellers, for example, the electronic message board will read, “Number 125 to Station D.” However, because the message boards were not working, to keep track of who was next in line, everyone had to sit in a certain order in their chairs. As the person at the head of the line was served, everyone moved to the next chair.

My daughter-in-law said that if someone went to the bathroom, you’d move along keeping that person’s chair empty (more need for a sense of humor). I’m sure this all took a lot of patience and a good sense of humor because it ended up taking up the whole morning instead of only one or two hours. Fortunately, my son and daughter-in-law brought toys and food for their little girl.

Can you imagine all these hot, sweaty people, fans whirring madly, hair whipping in their faces, and playing musical chairs!

They did get their drivers licenses renewed but it took much longer, was frustrating and required patience. That’s Mercury Retrograde.

MERCURY RETROGRADE FEEDBACK

I felt happy to receive the following email showing that I’m not the only one diverting my energy into organizing and cleaning during this Mercury Retrograde:

“I feel like there is so much I am suppose to be doing of great significance…and am sitting here getting organized…and keep asking myself…”What’s the point of getting all this stuff done..??”  Thanks for the message.  I shall plunge forward !!”

Is anyone else feeling the effects of Mercury Retrograde perhaps with travel delays or communications misunderstands?

TWIN SOULS STORY OF THE WITCH AND THE SORCERER DWARF

I enjoyed emails about twin souls. It is such a fascinating subject and one that resonates with many of us. Here are excerpts from two interesting emails with insightful views:

“In the desire for God to be part of ‘physicality’ the one had to become two—since we incarnate into a plane of duality. . . .  A physical plane of manifestation requires a ‘binding’ to it.  By being a part of it, we become dual expressions; physical and spiritual.”

and

“I was told back in the 50’s that the monads from a intuitive psychic level, look like light beings that are shaped like walnuts standing on end;  they are four sections of them. the Twin souls that incarnate and the Twin alchemical mates which make up our super consciousness beings.”

I feel grateful and happy to receive wonderful emails such as these three. Please feel free to write to me or to comment on my blog at http://www.CarolChapmanLive.com.

A Major Mercury Retrograde Snafu!!!

Remember, I said that during Mercury Retrograde there are problems with travel?

Well, guess what? Today I had car trouble.

I was driving home to the country from the city in the middle of the night. It was pitch dark, cold, a bit icy and overcast because there had been rain earlier in the day.

I haven’t had a problem with my beloved vehicle for years! And, the kind of trouble I had is weird. The car is sort of bumping every once in a while. There’s no flat tire. The power steering fluid is full. But, the car sort of weaves every once in a while.

Strange.

Thank God I could call my husband to help me. He drove my ailing vehicle and I followed in his car at 20 miles per hour with the hazards blinking. Luckily only one car needed to pass us. John couldn’t figure it out either.

More Mercury Retrograde Information

Here’s an excellent article from Astrology Alive on Mercury Retrograde:

What can we experience during Mercury retrogrades? – most often, increased frustration, interruptions and snafu’s that make even simple projects seem impossible You will need more caution, more care, and a pinch more of elbow grease to get things done. Typically there are delays, interferences, miscommunications (especially for those of us with strong Virgo or Gemini in our charts (Mercury is the ruler of these two signs). It is not a good time to launch or initiate new projects. You will be pushing off, symbolically, just when the tide is going out, and it will be more of a strain to make headway with your plan – better to wait until the current is moving with you.

AA! – Astrology Alive! Mercury Retrograde Article (September)

The article goes on to say that the areas you need to be especially careful with are:

1. If you must sign a contract during this time, diligently check the details

2. Decisions you make may need to be reversed when the retrograde period ends so try not to make any major decisions

3. It’s not a good time to send out marketing or public relations materials because they may be misunderstood, you may get little response for your effort, or you may have to make last minute changes

4. Back up everything on your computer. This is a time when the hard drive or software may fail.

In fact, I just experienced a typical Mercury Retrograde snafu. The first time I hit “publish” to publish this post on my blog, nothing happened except that I received a prompt saying “unable to connect to the remote server.”

Typical!!

That was yesterday. The computer had time to sleep over night. Hopefully it’s refreshed today. I’m going to try it again. Wish me well.

Are you in the Grip of Mercury Retrograde?

Does it feel like you just can’t finish anything?

When you have conversations on the phone are there misunderstandings?

Are your emails getting lost?

Do people who are normally helpful and easy to get along with showing signs of impatience?

Are you experiencing delays?

Do you keep starting new projects only to have them go nowhere?

Has your get up and go got up and went?

You’re not alone. It’s Mercury Retrograde Time! That’s when it appears as if Mercury is going backwards in relationship to the earth.

Mercury rules the mind, communications, education and travel.

Virgos and Geminis, who are ruled by Mercury, are especially affected by Mercury Retrograde. Also, people in communication and travel industries.

There are actually some useful aspects to this otherwise frustrating time.

It’s a wonderful time to finally finish projects you started BEFORE the Mercury Retrograde.

In fact, it’s good for anything that should have been done.

It’s good for finding things, cleaning things, sorting things.

All around, it’s a good time for getting things organized and in order in preparation for that wonderful time when Mercury goes direct again on February 1st.

Can I just last that long?
