Video: Taking the cover photo of When We Were Gods: Only one chance and an unexpected difficulty arises?

What do you do when you have only one chance and an unexpected difficulty arises? In this video, I’m going to tell you about an unexpected difficulty that occurred while taking the cover photo of When We Were Gods. I’ve received so many compliments for this cover photo that I thought you might like to know what it took to take the photo. (By the way, just in case you can’t see the video, or it stops partway – it happened to me, my computer is over 5 years old – the transcript is below. Or, you can go directly to YouTube to watch the video there. Here’s the link:  http://youtu.be/PSgvKF-528c.)

Transcript: For my model, I asked my son, Adam Balsley.   At the time, he was in college and home for the weekend. Unfortunately, that meant we had only one morning to take this photo.

We woke up at dark and headed out before first light. When we got to the beach, the sky was a gorgeous red color. Adam started dancing around to keep warm.

Just as the sun cracked through the horizon, he turned to face the sunrise, raised his arms in the “God is Greater” pose, and I snapped the first photo.

Unfortunately, the picture I had in my mind was supposed to have the sun way down at his feet to illustrate how the light of our soul fills us with spirit.

It wasn’t ‘til I got to the beach that I discovered that to get a photo like that, he probably should have been standing on a hill. Of course, there wasn’t a hill in sight, and the sun was steadily rising.

What to do? Well, the only thing you can do in a situation like that is to just let go and let your intuition take over. And that’s what I did.

The result was two magnificent photos. The first one became the image on the cover of The Golden Ones, the original version of When We Were Gods. The second one became the cover of When We Were Gods.

Once the sun rose over Adam’s head, the photo op was over.

By the way, if you are thinking of taking a photo like this, it is really dangerous to look directly at the sun and can cause blindness. Once Adam’s head was no longer blocking the sun, I was finished, I was out of there. And Adam, who was facing the sun, had his eyes closed the whole time.

I am immensely grateful to Adam for making this marvelous photo possible. To me it says so much about who we really are as souls in the earth.

Wondering when to start your next 40-day prayer?

During one of my events in South Carolina, one of the participants asked, “When do you start the next prayer?” I answered, “Wait. You’ll know.”

That’s how it’s just happened for me. A week ago,  a couple of days after finishing my 40-Day Manifestation Prayer, I remembered something in my past I still felt bad about. I knew immediately that this was an opportunity to start a new 40-day prayer, this time for forgiveness.

When you finish, compare your life on Day 40 with Day One of the 40-Day Manifestation Prayer

Find the 40-Day Manifestation Prayer in Have Your Heart’s Desire

I just finished a 40-Day Manifestation Prayer. If you attended one of my recent events in South Carolina, you know my life began to change as soon as I started this 40-day prayer. That doesn’t often happen. Most of the time, you have to keep praying until the 39th, 49th, or 41st day before you receive a result.

However, I kept on with this particular 40-day prayer and more changes occurred as I went. I did miss Day 11 and so had to start over again. However, on Day 40, I did receive a loving blessing–nothing  big or earth-shattering, but something very nice in my life.

Nonetheless, I think I expected something huge to occur and felt a bit disappointed.

However, today, a couple days after the end of that prayer series, I realize that the difference in how I feel today after Day 40 compared to the way I felt on Day One is huge! I feel so much better about the situation I prayed about today than I did on Day One.

As a result, I feel grateful and happy for the ability to do the 40-Day Manifestation Prayer. Also, I have another way of gauging results when I’m explaining the 40-Day Manifestation Prayer to people during my speaking events.

Basically, if you come to Day 40 of your 40-Day Manifestation Prayer and it doesn’t seem as if something huge or stupendous arrived for you on this day, think back to your situation on Day One of the prayer and compare it with your situation on Day 40. For me, there was a huge difference!!!

South Carolina topic about prayer–messages to god

Eagle: Messenger of the GodsI’m happy to say that my speaking events in Greenville and Charleston, South Carolina, went well. As usual, I especially enjoyed meeting the many wonderful people who were drawn to this work. They really enrich my life!

The title of the event was, “Have Your Heart’s Desire,”and is based on my new book, Have Your Heart’s Desire. But I like to think of this event as my “Messenger of the Gods,” speech, since my topic includes a couple of highly effective prayers.

For me, eagles symbolize the power of prayer since eagles fly so high and are considered, in many cultures, messengers of the gods. Prayer is a way of sending your message to God, your Higher Power, your Inner Knowing, or whatever you call that part of you accessible through your subconscious that is all-knowing.

Need to pray 40 days in a row–if you miss a day, start over

Have Your Heart's Desire Front CoverIf you’re doing one of the 40-day prayers in Have Your Heart’s Desire, remember, if you miss a day, you need to start from the beginning again.

I’m presently in the middle of a 40-Day Manifestation Prayer. I missed a day a couple of weeks ago. So, I started again. Now, I’m close to the end, being conscientious to think of the prayer every morning.

To keep track of what day I’m on, I write my prayer down. It helps to date it and write it.

Have Your Heart’s Desire is both in Kindle and paperback form.

Positive Thought: We don’t give ourselves credit for how positive the human mind is

Here’s another lovely comment I received on my Facebook Page, (Facebook.com/CarolChapman8) when I asked the question: With all that negative thought, why didn’t the world end on December 21, 2012?

I would like to think that the human mind is more positive than even we ourselves give it credit for so it would far outweigh any negative thoughts that we could have about these “predictions”. We keep on surprising ourselves ?

Did the world not end, because 90% worldwide didn’t care about the 2012 prophecies?

When I asked my question a couple of days ago, “If thoughts are things, and 10% worldwide thought the world would end on December 21, 2012, why didn’t the world end?” I feel happy, because I received the following two replies on my CarolChapman8 Facebook Page:

All the positive thoughts were stronger, not to mention all those who weren’t thinking about it at all!

If thoughts are things, and 10% worldwide thought the world would end on December 21, 2012, why didn’t the world end?

DVDFullWrapCoverTemplateWhat do you think? You can comment below.

With all that fear floating around, did the world not end because:

1. Thoughts aren’t things and volcanoes explode, earthquakes shake, and solar radiation sizzles independent of anything teeny, tiny humans (even 7 million strong) think

2. It takes the thought of much more than 700 million or 10% of the earth’s population to cause massive earth changes

3.  There’s always a lot of human-based fear on earth. This  fear around the 2012 date, was just part of the usual mix and therefore insignificant

4.  Even though the mind of human’s may be full of fear, in balance, there are so many happy thoughts, grateful thoughts, and just the body’s innate will to live that counteract the surface fear of the mind

5.  Other

So, I’ve been thinking.  If all 10% of the world’s population were thinking and also feeling so much fear, why didn’t the world end?

Please understand, I’m not saying that the world should have ended, because the Mayan calendar ended on that date and the Mayan prophecy said the world was going to end. That’s total rubbish. If you’ve seen my movie End of the World 2012 Movie or read my books, End of the World 2012 Book and EBook, you know that I investigated the Mayan “prophecy” and discovered it wasn’t a prophecy at all. And, that, in the movie and books, I reveal places where archaeologists have discovered Mayan ruins with Long Count Calendar dates past December 21, 2012.

That’s not what I’m talking about. What I’m talking about is the Reuters News survey, which I’ve mentioned before in this blog, that said that 10% of the people in the world feared that because the Mayan calendar was going to end, it meant the world was going to end. That’s what they thought. Based on rumor, media sensationalism, droves of books on 2012, and internet buzz, 10% of the world’s population believed (incorrectly) that the Mayan calendar was going to end.

Although 10% doesn’t seem like much (8% agreed somewhat and 2% agree absolutely), as it turns out, since the world’s population is seven billion, 10% is of the world’s seven-billion population is 700 million.

I’m really interested in your input on this topic. Part of the reason I made my movie and wrote my books, is that I wanted people to feel less afraid. So, it’s a topic I’ve been thinking about for a while.
