By late, I don’t mean late for the event, I mean late for the time you agreed upon with your event coordinator. This is usually a time when you will arrive BEFORE the audience arrives. If you want to get along with and receive support from your organizers, arrive at least 30 minutes before the starting time of the speech – an hour is better still.

One of the best ways to deal with the nervousness many people feel before speaking is to prepare thoroughly. Otherwise, when you stand in front of a roomful of faces you have two problems.
