Inspirational Quote from Edgar Cayce

This inspirational Cayce quote really appeals to me because, let’s face it, life is full of hindrances and troubles. And, let’s face it also, it can be really fun figuring out how to make these troubles and hindrances into stepping-stones. I find that often, when I look back on my life, I can see how these challenges actually turned out to create wonderful personal growth for me and also even opportunities.

For, those things that are as hindrances or troubles MUST be turned into stepping-stones, and not stumbling-stones; else a soul falls backward rather than progresses.

An Inspirational Poem

These inspirational poem used to be posted above the keyboard of Gerald Andress, one of my high school teachers. From what I know of him, he lived by the ideals in this poem:

Not what we have ~ but what we use,
Not what we see ~ but what we choose.
These are the things that mar or bless
    The sum of human happiness.

The things nearby ~ not things afar,
Not what we seem ~ but what we are.
These are the things that make or break
That give the heart its joy or ache.

Not what seems fair ~ but what is true,
Not what we dream ~ but what we do.
These are the things that shine like gems
    Like stars in fortune’s diadems.

Not what we take ~ but what we give,
Not as we pray ~ but as we live.
These are the things that make for peace
Both now and after time shall cease.

Edgar Cayce Quote on “Ugly Ducklings”

Here is the inspirational quotation from Edgar Cayce that accompanied yesterday’s blog post nature photograph of swans. This Cayce quote appeared in the 2009 Edgar Cayce Calendar for the month of September:

“And what a wonderful characteristic, – to see the beauty even in that which in the eyes of others would be ugly! That which is the Lord’s, and the fullness of the earth is His, has its beauty – if it is sought.”

    Edgar Cayce Reading 2787-1

In yesterday’s photograph of the swans, the two “ugly ducklings” or immature swans are the two large gray goose-like waterfowl to the right and in front of the beautiful white mature swan.

Albert Einstein on being as good as dead!

In my last post, I quoted Edgar Cayce on not really being dead. Today, I have an inspirational quote from Albert Einstein on being as good as dead!

“The fairest thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the fundamental emotion which stands at the cradle of true art and true science. He who knows it not and can no longer wonder, no longer feel amazement, is as good as dead, a stuffed-out candle.”

Today I need some inspiration since I just lost some important video footage. I feel wretched. I guess I need to find something to feel amazed about.

Edgar Cayce 2010 Calendar Almost Finished!

I’ve worked and worked and worked all day today on the 2010 Edgar Cayce Calendar. All of the photography pages are ready. The calendar pages are finished and out for proofing at the Edgar Cayce Foundation to make sure I have quoted Edgar Cayce’s inspirational readings accurately. The front and back cover are done. The title page is done. I just couldn’t get  the inside front cover finished tonight. It’s time to call it quits and pick up where I left off tomorrow.
