Intuitive Photography Choices Enhance Your Psychic Development

This technique of choosing photographs intuitively are a way of developing your psychic abilities. I actually learned the “Yes/No” technique from the Edgar Cayce readings.

Ask yourself, “Yes or No.” You might even hear “yes” or “no.” Most likely you’ll have a feeling for which ones you like and which ones you don’t. It is an intuitive choice–one that comes out of the unconscious.

However you experience it, you will have a sense, a knowing, of which photographs to choose.

Using Your Intuitive Faculties to Choose Photographs

Here’s a technique I learned from Dave Heath, my professor at Ryerson University in Toronto where I studied Photography and Filmmaking. I use it to help me choose which photograph to feature, whether it’s part of a slide show or whether it’s used to illustrate a book or whether it’s used in a calendar such as the Edgar Cayce Calendar.

If you can let go of the “idea” of what the photograph should look like, you may find a few images that are actually better than what you consciously tried to take photographs of.

Carol Chapman —

The operative word is consciously. Now, I’m going to describe a technique I use to bring in the unconscious or subconscious mind to help you choose the best photographs. Simply look at the photos one after another. You can even switch from one to another.

Ask yourself, “Yes or No.” You might even hear “yes” or “no.” Most likely you’ll have a feeling for which ones you like and which ones you don’t. It is an intuitive choice–one that comes out of the unconscious.

Citizens of the Universe at the Spiritual Level

I ended yesterday’s post with:

Actually, based on my memories of our origins, I believe that many of us were originally from other worlds. To find ourselves attached to one spot, as we are with Earth and the Solar System, is unusual for beings that, free from the physical, can roam the universe. We are actually Citizens of the Universe.

Carol Chapman —

Just in case you think I think that I, in the flesh, am an extraterrestrial, let me clarify. The important phrase is “free from the physical.” Based on my hypnosis memories, we travel the Universe and have been doing so forever. We do so as Beings of Light . . . souls, with spirit bodies.

As I wrote in When We Were Gods, occasionally, we get stuck in one of the places we are exploring.

Psychic Development Experience: Spirituality

Here’s a quote from Sue Shipley’s blog on her first experience contacting the dead. You can read the whole post by clicking on the link below the quote.

It tells the story of how Sue went to her first Psychic Development class. It happened to be led by a spiritualist, a person who believes the dead are easily accessible.

During the class meditation, Sue saw information that made no sense to her. However, another woman in the class explained that Sue had contacted the woman’s grandmother.

This is Sue’s conclusion:

There it was. So easy! In that tiny living room in rural Northumberland, I had my first interaction with the spirit world. Sheila’s mother had visited. There was no fanfare, no misty visions, just a simple picture – a snap shot of life to let Sheila know that her mother was there.

Quick Brown Fox: The Spooky Art of Psychic Development, by Sue Shipley

I like this story because it shows how an ordinary person can learn how to contact the spirit world with just a little bit of guidance. Of course, the ability to contact the spirit world is just one of many psychic talents a person can develop.

Psychic Development: Write Down Your Dreams

Yesterday’s blog post said how important it is to write down your dreams if you want to access your own personal psychic source. If you don’t write your dreams down, you’ll likely forget them.

Here’s a good example from my own experience. In my March 28, 2008 blog post, I said that I had totally forgotten a very significant dream that had told me to wake up and take photographs of the sunrise. Here’s an excerpt from that post:

I came across another set of sunrise photographs labeled, “From dream that told me to wake up.” These are lovely misty sunrises. I love them and will likely use one of the photos in the calendar.

Dream Interpretation: Write Your Dreams Down — Carol Chapman

If I hadn’t labeled the resulting photos as “From Dream that told me to wake up,” I would have never known the gorgeous pictures had resulted from a dream.

Isn’t it amazing that some part of our psyche, while sound asleep indoors with the blinds closed, is awake enough, exists free of the body, and yet is capable of sensing enough to know that outside there’s a fantastic sunrise worth photographing.

The gorgeous photograph from this morning’s misty sunrise is in the 2009 Edgar Cayce Calendar.

Psychic Development: Dream Study

In my July 3, 2008 post, I said that dream study is an easy avenue for most people to access their psychic abilities. Dreams can provide clairvoyancetelepathy, knowing the future, and communicating with the dead

However, it isn’t enough to dream. You also have to write your dreams down. If you don’t, you will likely forget the dream. Even if you remember the dream, you will likely forget important details of the dream.

Has that ever happened to you . . . that you woke up remembering a fantastic dream, became distracted, and, when you went to tell someone about your dream, the memory of it was totally gone?

Psychic Development: Lost and Found

Here’s a little technique I use for finding things. It’s called:

“My left hand will find it.”

I’m right-hand dominant. My right hand represents my conscious mind.

My left hand represents my unconscious mind.

If I was left-hand dominant, my right hand would represent my unconscious.

When I can’t find something, I let my non-dominant hand find what I’m looking for. I allow my left hand to find what I’m looking for.

This is what I do: I go everywhere I think I may have left the “lost” item. I consciously look, allowing my non-dominant left hand to search wherever I look. I do not use my dominant right hand to search

Usually, after I give up consciously looking . . . a little while later . . . my left hand will (often nonchalantly) grab the item I couldn’t find. I’ll be thinking of something else. I will have abandoned the search. My left hand will find it.

Try this. See if it works for you.

Psychic Development for Anyone Who Dreams

Have you ever had a dream come true? Did you ever receive the solution to a problem you were pondering in a dream? Have you ever met a stranger in a dream before meeting them in waking life?

These are just a few examples of the psychic information that can surface in dreams.

What’s an easy way to develop the psychic information that comes through in your dreams? Keep a dream journal. Write your dreams down as soon as you wake up.

By keeping track of your dreams and attempting to understand them upon awakening, you let your unconscious know that you want to receive psychic information in your dreams.

How to get what you wish to experience in life? > Conversations with God

Do you ever feel that if you admit you want something, it is less likely to manifest in your life? Here’s a real neat explanation for this from Neale Donald Walsh:

You see, James, you may not have anything that you ask for. Why? Because the very act of asking for it is your announcement to the universe that you do not now have it. And that announcement is a statement to the universe of your perspective.

Psychic Development Enhanced by Study

We are all psychic because “psychic is of the soul,” as Edgar Cayce, the world’s best documented psychic, said in one of his trance readings.  Some people are naturally more talented in their connection with the spiritual. However, everyone can develop their psychic abilities. Even those individuals who are innately more psychic than others benefit from training of some sort.

Following the path to psychic development requires some real study, as well as deep inner work, even for those who are naturally gifted.

Global Psychics Weblog » Opening the Psychic Channels

The blog post above goes on to recount a personal story in which a psychically talented person got into trouble by attracting negative vibrations due to the lack of effective preparation and closing.

For me, the simple, easy disciplines I learned in Edgar Cayce Search For God Study Groups have been very helpful, especially the “How to meditate” suggestions. They include a prayer of protection and using the 23rd Psalm at the end so that the spiritual centers opened during meditation are closed safely. The Cayce meditation technique also uses a positive affirmation to direct the spiritual unfoldment during meditation toward positive channels.

Have you ever had a scary psychic experience?
