Yucatan Safe for Tourists

Amid reports of horrific drug war murders, an article at KansasCity.com says that a number of Mexican states, including Yucatan, are safe for tourists. The article explains that the least safe Mexican states are those adjacent to U.S. borders. The U.S. State Department says that millions of U.S. tourists visit Mexico every year and about a million Americans reside in Mexico.

March Edgar Cayce Forum Event Changed to October

I talked with Day Schwartz, co-moderator of the Edgar Cayce Forum, about changing my March speaking date with them because of an upcoming family event. We’ve changed the date of my speech to the last Wednesday in October, 2011. Day also told me that she and her co-moderator and daughter, Lindy van Burik, had streamlined the title of my presentation to: “THE YUCATAN CONNECTION TO ATLANTIS AND LEMURIA USING CAYCE CLUES AND MYTHOLOGY.” I like it! Don’t you?

Beautiful man made crop circles

I always thought that crop circles had to be made by some force other than human because the huge works of art were so gorgeous, complex and huge. In my opinion, you’d need to have a view from above the crop circle to create it.

According to news stories, many people in the United Kingdom proclaim that they, not aliens, created the intricate patterns in grain fields known as “crop circles.”

I found it difficult to believe them until a group of people, headed by Jim Denevan, created the largest work of art on earth on the largest lake on earth: Lake Baikal in Siberia.

It is not a crop circle because it is not in a crop. However, it is as gorgeous, complex and huge. In fact, at nine square miles, it is much larger than an crop circle.

Take a look at these Lake Baikal photos.

Maybe, after all, crop circles are created by people.

The Atlantes and Atlantis

A coincidence or what! In Yucatan, among Mayan ruins, there are ancient statues that are supposed to be holding up the world called Atlantes. Is that Atlantes or Atlantis? Where did these Atlantes get their name? What difference, if any, is there between the pronunciation of Atlantes and Atlantis. It could very well be only a difference in interpreting the spoken word. They are probably the same word!

Izamal Virgin Mary Apparition Story

One of my favorite places to visit in the Yucatan is Izamal, the yellow city. All the downtown buildings are painted yellow in Izamal, as is the Convent of Padua. It houses the Virgin of Izamal.

Although I have never seen her story written up in a book on apparitions of the Virgin Mary, I think she should be. Like the Czestochowa “Black Madonna” of Poland, the Izamal virgin became too heavy to move, thereby showing its desire to remain in Izamal. It is a statue originally made in Guatemala.

In the Yucatan Travel Movie, we visit Izamal during the December celebration of the Virgin of Izamal.

Inspirational Cayce Quote

I really love this inspirational Edgar Cayce quote about roses:

“Then who may tell the rose where and when to bloom? For it takes from whatever may be its surroundings, and when encompassed even by man it does the best possible to be the beauty, to be the joy, and to give out that which is pleasing in the service to God.”Edgar Cayce Reading 2778-2

I especially love that, “. . . when encompassed even by man . . .” Is it really that difficult for a rose to do the best possible even when encompassed by man?
