New 2012 Movie Announced

Here’s an item from another person’s blog. It looks like Hollywood has jumped on the 2012 bandwagon. Mel Gibson is not the only one doing movies on Apocalypto and the Maya. It looks as if this movie is not geared to the past, as was Gibson’s, but is looking toward scaring the movie-viewing population as we get closer December 21, 2012. Evidently, this director did the disaster movie, “Independence Day.”

The following announcement was of interest:

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) – Sony Pictures has picked up disaster-movie king Roland Emmerich’s apocalyptic script “2012,” one of the first big projects to hit the market since the three-month writers strike ended on February 12.

While a deal almost was assured, many studios quickly dropped out of the hunt. Some didn’t like the story, describing it as a “Roland Emmerich greatest-hits package.” Others balked at the price tag. The project comes with a $200 million budget.

The script blends the idea of the Mayan calendar, which predicts the world ending in 2012, with natural disasters such as volcanic eruptions, typhoons and glaciers plaguing the planet and a large cast of characters dealing with the mayhem.

Emmerich, known for such films as “Independence Day” and “Godzilla,” will direct the project from a script he co-wrote with Harald Kloser.  Sony is planning a July 10, 2009, release. http://www.reuters.com/article/industryNews/idUSN2252926420080222

December 21, 2012 is when the Maya’s “Long Count” calendar marks the end of a 5,126-year era.

While some astronomical occurrences will happen then, some people suspect that the Mayan date may mark the end of civilization or perhaps the beginning of a time of great tribulation or the emergence of a new and better age.

A few others seem to believe that December 22, 2012 may mark the beginning of a new and better era for humanity.

About Rhonda Byrne’s The Secret

From a Boston Red Sox Baseball Team blog on the benefits of the Law of Attraction as described in The Secret:

Ramirez has been reading Rhonda Byrne’s self-motivational bestseller “The Secret” in the clubhouse, highlighting various passages. … From Publishers Weekly, via Amazon:

Supporters will hail this New Age self-help book on the law of attraction as a groundbreaking and life-changing work, finding validation in its thesis that one’s positive thoughts are powerful magnets that attract wealth, health, happiness … and did we mention wealth? Detractors will be appalled by this as well as when the book argues that fleeting negative thoughts are powerful enough to create terminal illness, poverty and even widespread disasters.

The Joy of Sox

I love The Secret too and have benefited from applying the suggestions in it.

New Movie "The Moses Code"

James Twyman, the for-peace troubadour is at it again. He did a movie on the Indigo Children, and the next one is called, “The Moses Code.” It is directed by Drew Heriot, director of “The Secret.” Sounds good.

There is a kingdom being built by certain living luminaries such as Marianne Williamson, Michael Beckwith and Eckhart Tolle along with many other names that are becoming more and more intrinsically linked. They along with others who are like minded, are expecting a “Shift in Action” for a new world! One of the main people behind the movie called “The Moses Code” is James Twyman.

An In-depth Discussion of Reincarnation

Some interesting comparisons between Buddhist, Hindu, New Age and Pagan ideas on reincarnation.

Reincarnation, literally “to be made flesh again”, as a doctrine or mystical belief, holds the notion that some essential part of a living being (or in some variations, only human beings) can survive death in some form, with its integrity partly or wholly retained, to be reborn in a new body. This part is often referred to as the Spirit or Soul, the ‘Higher or True Self’, ‘Divine Spark’, ‘I’.

In such beliefs, a new personality is developed during each life in the physical world, based upon past integrated experience and new acquired experiences, but some part of the being remains constantly present throughout these successive lives as well. It is usually believed that there is interaction between predeterminism of certain experiences, or lessons intended to happen during the physical life, and the free-will action of the individual as they live that life.

This doctrine is a central tenet within the majority of Indian religious traditions such as Yoga, Vaishnavism and Shaivism (from Hinduism), and also Jainism and Sikhism. It was common belief among the Ancient Greeks and Ancient Romans[citation needed]. Many modern Pagans also believe in reincarnation as do some New Age movements, along with followers of Spiritism, practitioners of certain African traditions, and students of esoteric philosophies. The Buddhist concept of Rebirth although often referred to as reincarnation differs significantly from the Vedic based traditions and New Age movements in that the “self” (or soul) does not reincarnate (see below).

Dream Interpretation: Alien Abduction

Have you ever had a dream where you were abduction by aliens? Since there are numerous books recounting  people’s experiences of being abducted by aliens, I wonder what dream dictionaries say about this kind of dream. Therefore, I did an internet search. The following dream interpretations vary considerably. At the bottom of this post, I’ve included some information about reports of actual alien abductions.

Alien(s)

If you dream that you are an alien from outer space this will denote that your ideas are starting to get out of hand in regard to occult matters. It is your minds way to ‘put the brakes on’. If you dream you have been abducted by aliens this shows your fear of changing your surroundings or your deep seated fear of losing your home and family. To see aliens of any kind is bringing out your fears and must be correlated with the rest of the dream.

Dream Dictionary A

Alien

Occasionally, people will have dreams about UFO’s and aliens. What these dreams symbolize, collectively or individually is difficult to explain and understand. Meeting and talking to aliens may suggests that significant changes are coming into your life and, at the moment, things feel strange and foreign to you. If you dream that you are the alien, it suggests that you may feel detached from some parts of yourself and from others. You may be a stranger in your immediate surroundings, and some self-evaluation and familiarization is suggested.

Alien Abduction

Kidnapping by non-human beings. The first reported claim of alien abduction was in Brazil in 1957 and since then there have been reports from all over the Western world – in Europe including the UK, Australia, South Africa, Russia, and North America. Although people?s experiences vary quite widely, the following features recur

Light, especially a beam which draws the person up, and sometimes vibration.

A spacecraft of some kind.

Humanoid beings, especially small gray ones with large black eyes, who communicate by telepathy.

Medical tests being performed and eggs or sperm removed so that human/alien offspring can be produced.

Lost periods of time and inexplicable small wounds.

Very few accounts are complete but sometimes the full story is recovered through hypnosis.

Animals and Saints

I loved this quote from Christine Valters Paintner PhD’s blog. It brought to mind one of the animals I have a special connection with.

In ancient times, one sign of the holiness of mystics and Saints was a special connection to animals. Animals have their own wisdom that comes in part from their otherness, they open a window to dimensions of God we might not otherwise see.

semi-wild feline who allows me to feed him, I can pet him as long as we stay outside. He’s a rather serious fellow who has a number of fields to patrol for foxes and raccoons. He also has a sense of responsibility when it comes to the numbers of voles in the garden.

When I go for my daily walk, I often see him in a dry ditch along the road. I like that he greets me with a meow.

I named him Valcor because he looks like the Luck Dragon in the Never Ending Story.

Dream Interpretation – Messing Up a Public Performance

Another common dream from The Common Dream Book by Gillian Holloway, PhD. In this one, you’re giving a speech and everything goes wrong. At first things may seem good–more people arrived than you expected, they’re really enthusiastic about your topic, they love you . . . and then, things start going wrong. The microphone is broken, people in the audience are talking and you can’t shout loud enough to drown them out, your electronic visual presentation won’t work, people are leaving the room, those who remain begin to fight . . .

She says that some people believe that this is a dream about an upcoming task that the dreamer is nervous about. She believes that the dream is telling the dreamer to get more connected with without it is that he or she is undertaking.

The watchword is “service.” If the dreamer can get the focus off of him or herself and to the needs of the people in the audience, the fears the dreamer feels will begin to leave.

People who work giving presentations in front of the public often have these kind of dreams when a new stress turns up such as if they’ve taken on too much or they come down with a cold.

She has found that people who handle this kind of stress the best are able to keep their performances in perspective, not being overly proud when things go well and not being overly devastated when they do not.

Dream Interpretation – do you every dream about computers?

Computers represent mental functions, according to Gillian Holloway in The Complete Dream Book. Therefore, the memory has to do with your memory, the hard drive with what’s driving you, the computer screen with perceptions, and the printer with carrying through with your ideas.

She suggests to note your reaction to the situation in your dream because this will help you to know how to deal with whatever situation is challenging you that the computer problem in your dream represents.

May a Christian Believe in Reincarnation?

This is a great article referring to many passages on reincarnation in the Bible and ancient orthodox Jewish writings. The article also says that the resurrection as “the end of death” originally referred to the end of reincarnation:

Reincarnation-also known as the transmigration of souls-is not some exotic idea of non-Christian mysticism. In ancient orthodox Jewish and Christian writings, as well as the Holy Scriptures, we can find reincarnation as a fully developed belief, although today it is commonly ignored.
