More Mercury Retrograde Information

Here’s an excellent article from Astrology Alive on Mercury Retrograde:

What can we experience during Mercury retrogrades? – most often, increased frustration, interruptions and snafu’s that make even simple projects seem impossible You will need more caution, more care, and a pinch more of elbow grease to get things done. Typically there are delays, interferences, miscommunications (especially for those of us with strong Virgo or Gemini in our charts (Mercury is the ruler of these two signs). It is not a good time to launch or initiate new projects. You will be pushing off, symbolically, just when the tide is going out, and it will be more of a strain to make headway with your plan – better to wait until the current is moving with you.

AA! – Astrology Alive! Mercury Retrograde Article (September)

The article goes on to say that the areas you need to be especially careful with are:

1. If you must sign a contract during this time, diligently check the details

2. Decisions you make may need to be reversed when the retrograde period ends so try not to make any major decisions

3. It’s not a good time to send out marketing or public relations materials because they may be misunderstood, you may get little response for your effort, or you may have to make last minute changes

4. Back up everything on your computer. This is a time when the hard drive or software may fail.

In fact, I just experienced a typical Mercury Retrograde snafu. The first time I hit “publish” to publish this post on my blog, nothing happened except that I received a prompt saying “unable to connect to the remote server.”

Typical!!

That was yesterday. The computer had time to sleep over night. Hopefully it’s refreshed today. I’m going to try it again. Wish me well.

Are you in the Grip of Mercury Retrograde?

Does it feel like you just can’t finish anything?

When you have conversations on the phone are there misunderstandings?

Are your emails getting lost?

Do people who are normally helpful and easy to get along with showing signs of impatience?

Are you experiencing delays?

Do you keep starting new projects only to have them go nowhere?

Has your get up and go got up and went?

You’re not alone. It’s Mercury Retrograde Time! That’s when it appears as if Mercury is going backwards in relationship to the earth.

Mercury rules the mind, communications, education and travel.

Virgos and Geminis, who are ruled by Mercury, are especially affected by Mercury Retrograde. Also, people in communication and travel industries.

There are actually some useful aspects to this otherwise frustrating time.

It’s a wonderful time to finally finish projects you started BEFORE the Mercury Retrograde.

In fact, it’s good for anything that should have been done.

It’s good for finding things, cleaning things, sorting things.

All around, it’s a good time for getting things organized and in order in preparation for that wonderful time when Mercury goes direct again on February 1st.

Can I just last that long?

Mercury Retrograde Dos and Don’ts

The suggestion for a Mercury Retrograde, which we’re in now, is to “pay attention to details” especially having to do with transportation and communication.  Here’s a quote from Crystalinks:

It’s important to figure out how this transit affects the patterns in your life as they will repeat. I know some readers are not into retrograde, but it has its pitfalls whether you believe it nor not. With shifting reality, much doesn’t work in general, but this transit can make things a bit more confusing, indecisive and difficult. To me Mercury Retrograde means Repetitions and Delays. Pay attention to details now, especially linked to transportation and communication. We also find mixed or missed messages. Plans change. Things are lost or forgotten. Decisions will be made and revisited. Don’t forget that Mercury is the Trickster who brings messages and learning lessons in round-about ways that we attract by synchronicity.

More Advantages to Mercury Retrograde

I like these suggestions since, right now, we are in a Mercury Retrograde time and I feel like cleaning out the closets. It’s also good to know that this is a great time for wading through the many projects I’ve let pile up.

I’ve heard so many bad things about Mercury Retrograde, it’s nice to know there are some advantages to this time. These great suggestions are from Astrology Zone.

Now is also a good time to dress old wounds, clean up relationships or to simply bury the hatchet. Some people have great breakthroughs in psychotherapy during a Mercury retrograde period. For salesman, it is a positive time to backtrack over previous contacts rather than call on new ones. It is a perfect time to schedule work on projects that you haven’t had time to do and you’ve let pile up. Bring your resume or portfolio up to date, and clean out your closets. Take time to paint the house. Clear your decks.

Advantages of Mercury Retrograde

I love this article by Astrology Zone on the advantages of Mercury Retrograde. Actually, I am happy to say, that out of the blue, an old friend contacted me today . . . just as Astrology Zone predicted for a Mercury Retrograde.

Some activities are lucky or actually improve when Mercury retrogrades. You are likely to bump into old friends that you haven’t seen in years. Adopted children tend to find their birth parents during Mercury retrograde periods, or people locate their long lost siblings. Prosecutors often find clues to crimes that had previously remained unsolved for years.

Mercury Retrograde Can Be A Beneficial Time

I found this selection from Skyscript on Mercury Retrograde very helpful. I like the idea of thinking of it as a maintenance period.

Mercury retrograde reminds us that efficiency is built upon stability, so think of it as a maintenance period, ideal for revisiting old problems that call for action but lay ignored. If communication problems exist, Mercury retrograde will bring them back to your attention. By taking time out to resolve them now you will be better equipped to make smooth progress in the future.

More on Mercury Retrograde

I thought I’d include more information on the Mercury Retrograde since I’ve already experienced a couple of delays being served at a cash register, misplaced a bag and had to go back for it, and had a misunderstanding with the clerk at the airline while booking travel on a flight because the airline lost my tentative registration.

A Mercury retrograde period is a difficult time to begin new projects linked to communication, networking, information-flow and travel.

If you’re experiencing the same kinds of frustrations, remember to be patient and that it will be over February 1st. That’s only 20 days and counting!

Mercury Retrograde from January 11 to February 1st

Do you know that Mercury has just gone retrograde? This happens about three times a year. It usually causes confusions and misunderstandings in communications plus difficulties getting things done on time.

It is a good time for taking care of things you meant to do. Here’s what Alpha Life Trends has to say about Mercury Retrograde:

In 2009 the adjustments that are slated to occur during the retrogrades begin in air signs and return back to earth signs. Thus these Mercury retrogrades take our ideas, decisions and attitudes about specific events and utilize the information to put new processes, contracts, and the like into place.

Are Children Happier if they are raised in a religious environment?

I found this article interesting. It says that teens and adults seem to be happier if they participate in institutional religious practices. However, researchers have found that “religiousness” does not affect a child’s happiness.

Their research shows that children who feel that their lives have meaning and value and who develop deep, quality relationships – both measures of spirituality – are happier. It would appear, however, that their religious practices have little effect on their happiness.

Researchers look at relationship between spirituality, religiousness and happiness in children

Is it a Space Ship or a Sleigh Drawn by Eight Reindeer!

Isn’t this cute. It’s from Kent in the United Kingdom in a newspaper that writes about UFOs. I love these spoofs about Santa, or I mean Kris Kringle I think he’s called in the UK, and his reindeer being UFOs.

The truth may be out there, and it could be over the skies of Kent during Christmas following reports of mysterious UFOs.
One happened at 8.30pm on Christmas Day when a resident said they saw “four silent lights”.
