Oil echo-sounding finds submerged land in North Atlantic that was once above sealevel

Am I missing something? The comments accompanying an intriguing article at Mail Online called Lost world: Ancient submerged landscape of mountains and riverbeds found on the Atlantic seabed seem to be deriding the information in the article.

The commenters appear to ridicule the author of the article for wondering if the underwater land that was once above sea level could have been the mythological land of Atlantis.

Is it the date? That the land has been submerged for 56 million years? Or is it because no ruins have been found (as yet) on this land? After 56 millions years underwater at the bottom of the North Atlantic, would buildings still exist?

I am amazed when one after another ruin above and below water around the Mediterranean, Caribbean, from Antarctica to Indonesia are hailed as the lost city of Atlantis that this . That’s not ridiculous?

For my part, I am excited to learn of this new discovery. Echo-sounding technique used for finding undersea oil made the unusual find.

Strait of Gibraltar (Pillars of Hercules) Map Link

Here’s a link to a map of the Strait of Gibraltar, which used to be called the Pillars of Hercules during Plato‘s time. You can see Spain (Europe) at the top and Morrocco (Africa) at the bottom with the Strait of Gibraltar in the middle. It is the waterway that joins the Mediterranean Sea on the right and the Atlantic Ocean on the left. The map is a WorldMap.com and it’s great. This is the Pillar of Hercules that Plato referenced when describing the location of the lost city of Atlantis.

Was Atlantis in Europe or in the Atlantic Ocean?

The recent “sort-of Atlantis” find in Spain–satellite images showed buried concentric circles of ruins reminiscent of Plato’s description of the lost city of Atlantis–beg the question: Was Atlantis in Europe?

Professor Freund, who headed the map-making excursion in Spain, says there’s more to indicate these ruins, which have not be excavated yet, could be Atlantis. A TampaBay.com article says:

Greek philosopher Plato wrote that Atlantis, the shining capital of an ancient civilization, was surrounded by rings of harbors near the Pillars of Hercules, now known as the Straits of Gibraltar. It sank into the sea in one day, he wrote.
USF Professor digs into ancient secrets like lost city of Atlantis

Since the concentric circles are in Spain, they are near the Pillars of Hercules. But wait, I always thought that when Plato said, “near the Pillars of Hercules,” he meant on the Atlantic Ocean side of the present-day Straits of Gibraltar, not on the Mediterranean Sea side.

The Straits of Gibraltar (Pillars of Hercules) create a gate between the Mediterranean Sea (plus Europe and Africa), and the wide open Atlantic Ocean, which is where I always thought Atlantis used to be. Out in the ocean between present-day Europe/Africa and the Americas, not in Europe/Africa.

Delightful USF Professor clarifies recent “sort of” Atlantis find in Spain

I had read that archeologists in Spain had been miffed that Professor Freund of the USA had prematurely announced that Atlantis had been found in Spain. So, I wondered, what was the American scientist doing at a Spanish archeological dig?

This delightful St. Petersburg Times interview of the USF geography professor Phillip Reed who mapped the underground structures in Spain using ground-penetrating radar, electric current and powerful metal detectors explains the working relationship between the Spanish archeologists and Freund’s team.

Reeder explains that Freund’s team, of which Reeder is a part, usually goes to an archeological site for a couple of weeks to create a map of buried ruins. They turn over the discoveries to the resident archeologists at the site who usually spend months and even years uncovering the evidence. The map helps the resident archeologists to know where to concentrate their excavations.

Do Mayan Shamans believe the world will end in 2012?

Here’s a description of my upcoming talk at the Edgar Cayce Forum on October 26, 2011 at Edgar Cayce’s A.R.E. in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Do Mayan Shamans believe the world will end in 2012?

Carol Chapman wondered what the Maya had to say about 2012. After all, it is a Mayan prophecy that originated all the speculation about December 21, 2012. Were the modern-day Maya preparing for the end of the world? If so, were they afraid or fatalistic? Or, did they even know about the ancient Mayan prophecy? Could it be that all the media about 2012 was only an American phenomenon?

Therefore, while shooting video footage for the Yucatan Travel Movie: Cancun to Chichen Itza, she also interviewed every-day Maya and Mayan Shamans. These interviews became the nucleus of her upcoming presentation: Do Mayan Shamans believe the world will end in 2012? She will be giving her PowerPoint program at the Edgar Cayce Forum on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at Edgar Cayce’s A.R.E. in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Her presentation will include videotaped interviews, an explanation of the Maya’s fascinating and complicated calendar system, the actual ancient Mayan prophecy, as well as psychic revelations about the Maya from the trance readings of “the sleeping prophet” Edgar Cayce. For example, the Cayce Atlantis readings say that Atlanteans journeyed to Yucatan, the home of the Maya. Could the ancient Maya’s mathematical and astronomical prowess be the result of their Atlantis connection?

New Age metaphysical author and filmmaker Carol Chapman has traveled four times to the Yucatan and once to Egypt searching for indications that Atlanteans traveled to these locations. She used both her past life regression memories and the trance readings of the American seer Edgar Cayce to guide her explorations. She wrote of her adventures in When We Were Gods and Arrival of the Gods in Egypt.

Cyprus festival of the flood filmed by Atlantis researcher

Robert Sarmast is returning to Cyprus in his third attempt to locate the ruins of the lost city of Atlantis on the sea floor between Cyprus and Syria. Here’s an excerpt from the online Cyprus Mail article:

Sarmast said yesterday he wanted to be here for the Kataklysmos festival, or the ‘festival of the flood’. This will be held islandwide next weekend.

“The Kataklysmos festival is really about the great flood that sunk Atlantis, so it’s not surprising to me that the celebrations are unique to Cyprus,” said Sarmast.

Atlanteans visited Yucatan

I am fascinated by the concept that Atlanteans traveled to lands that presently exist. This means that, even though the lost city of Atlantis was destroyed by natural disasters such as earthquakes and tsunamis, there could still be evidence of the lost continent of Atlantis in the places Atlanteans visited. Here’s an Edgar Cayce reading saying that Atlanteans traveled to what now called Yucatan:

“. . . In that land known as the Atlantean . . . When there was the journeying of many . . . To that portion of the sphere now known as Yucatan.”

I write about my experiences looking for evidence of Atlanteans in Yucatan in my book When We Were Gods.

Travel in the Bermuda Triangle for a supernatural adventure

A CNN Travel article suggests that if you are contemplating a holiday that includes sailing and are interested in a “supernatural slant,” that you consider one of four places:
1. The Bermuda Triangle off the coast of Florida
2. The Sargasso Sea, a warm area swarming with seaweed in the Atlantic Ocean
3. The Devil’s Triangle, off the coast of Japan
4. The Michigan Triangle, centered around Lake Michigan, one of the Great Lakes.

The article says about the Bermuda Triangle:

A raft of books, like “The Devil’s Triangle,” “Limbo of the Lost,” and “The Riddle of the Bermuda Triangle” all contained supernatural explanations — from UFOs to “wormholes” to technology left over from the mythical lost continent of Atlantis.

Were the “Divine Men” in Atlantis aliens?

In my last post I quoted a May 26, 2011 comment on the Godlike Productions website saying that Plato said that both men and “Divine Men” inhabited Atlantis. The writer of the post assumed that the “Divine Men” were extraterrestrials.

Interestingly, in my past life regressions of my reincarnation memories of Atlantis, I called myself a goddess and said that I was from Arcturus.

You can read about my adventures, and my quest to find evidence of Atlanteans in Egypt in my book Arrival of the Gods in Egypt.

“Divine Men” in Atlantis

Have you ever heard of this:

Plato stated that Atlantis was inhabited by humans and “divine men” …
Godlike Productions

I saw this on a website called Godlike Productions as part of a forum thread called, Was the Chicxulub “crater site” really the lost city of Atlantis? Check this out. This was part of a post by Anonymous Coward 1401421 posted on May 26, 2011.

Interesting, right? “Divine men.” I have read excerpts from Plato’s Timaeus and Critias but have not studied the texts where Plato describes the lost continent of Atlantis, therefore, I do not know if this reference to “divine men” is accurate.

However, if it is, it coincides with the Edgar Cayce readings on Atlantis in which Cayce refers to god-like beings who populated Atlantis.

In fact, during past life regression, I had memories of being an Atlantean goddess. You can read about my experiences in my book, When We Were Gods: Insights on Atlantis, Past Lives, Angelic Beings of Light, and Spiritual Awakening.
