And yet another location for Atlantis: Bolivia

The following quote comes from what appears to be a new WordPress blog site devoted to Atlantis, OnlineAtlantic.com. It refers to a possible location of the lost city of Atlantis as being in Bolivia. Never heard of that one before, but it definitely piques my interest. In the first post I read that:

British Royal Air Force photo interpreter J.M. Allen thinks that Atlantis is in Altiplano, Bolivia, near the Andes Mountains.

Atlantis could have been been matrilineal and matriarchical

According to Atlantis Quest – Uncovering the Secrets that Prove Plato Right, both Native American tribes who live on the West side of the Atlantic Ocean and the Basques who live on the East side of the Atlantic Ocean share the same mitochondrial DNA haplogroup X–giving rise to speculation that they both spring from a common ancestor who lived on a landmass in the Atlantic Ocean, the lost continent of Atlantis.

Interestingly, many Native Americans tribes are often matrilineal (inheritance and descent spring from the female line) and matriarchal (ruled by women).

Could the Native Americans derive their rulership and inheritance traditions from the same place their derived their mitochondrial DNA haplogroup X?

Was Atlantis ruled by women?

In yesterday’s post, I wrote that I have discovered that the word, Atlantis, means “the Daughter of Atlas.” This is especially interesting to me, because I think read somewhere, perhaps  in Edgar Cayce’s psychic readings of people who had had past lives in Atlantis, that the Atlanteans were a matriarchal society. Do you know anything about this?

How will we know it’s Atlantis?

I often wonder: When we finally find Atlantis, will there be a large sign saying, “Atlantis” so we know we have found the right place? Because, if it’s only a ruin, it could be anything! And, if there is a marquee, will the name be listed in English? (I hope you realize this is all tongue-in-cheek.) Even though I am kidding, the kernel of truth within it is that with every claim that some explorer has found the lost city of Atlantis–and there are so many–I wonder how will the archaeologists prove that this particular ruins is Atlantis?

Atlantis disappearance not the usual trend!

Yesterday I wrote to say that the grid-pattern, thought by some to be the lost city of Atlantis,  found on the floor of the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Africa by Google Maps has disappeared. How unusual. Usually, Atlantis keeps popping up in many diverse places. A disappearance is definitely out of the ordinary! What can it mean? Is this the first 2012 earth upheaval?

Google Maps’ Atlantis disappears!

On March 17, 2010, I wrote a post on this blog saying that Google Maps had supposedly found Atlantis off the coast of Africa, that is, until the Google mappers realized that they mapping boat had actually created the grid that some thought looked like city streets.

Now, improved mapping techniques have eliminated the grid artifacts in recent Google mapping forays over the ocean floor, according to a Mobile Magazine article.

The internet giant, in a drive to clean up, or rather upgrade, its ocean mapping system, has removed from Google Earth the image which was believed to be that of the lost city of Atlantis.

Are the ancient supercontinents of Gondwana and Pangaea related in any way?

I wondered if Gondwana had anything to do with Pangaea the ancient supercontinent. According to Wikipedia, the supercontinent of Gondwana, which was originally called Gondwanaland, joined with Laurasia to form Pangaea. Gondwana existed from 510 to 180 million years ago.

I’m interested, because I wonder if there is evidence that points to previous lost continents such as Atlantis and Lemuria.

Dynamic Seminar: Influences of Atlantis and Lemuria in Yucatan

I am delighted to post a description of one of my favorite seminars, Influences of Atlantis and Lemuria in Yucatan, because it includes a dynamic PowerPoint presentation. Participants at this seminar told me that they loved the embedded videotaped interviews with a Mayan man describing the “stories of his grandparents” and a expert on Mayan culture. These interviews provide information that show the influence of both Atlantis and Lemuria in the Yucatan. For more information on this fascinating topic, please click here.
