Yesterday I said that it made sense that Russia would have a Chief Scientist of UFOlogy because I remembered, from the 1971 book Psychic Discoveries Behind the Iron Curtain, that the Russian people had studied psychic phenomenon taking for granted it was real rather than the U.S. which has to prove whether or not it exists before the U.S. studies psychic development.
Today, I remembered that certain aspects of the U.S., not necessarily academic America, takes psychic phenomenon seriously. I have a girlfriend who used to be a trainer at Robert Monroe’s The Monroe Institute (TMI) in Faber, Virginia. She told me that many of the people who came to TMI for Out of Body Experience (OBE) training were members of the American secret intelligence service.

Yesterday I said:
here’s some interesting possibly true information on Russia’s Chief Scientist in UFOlogy
saying that I take such reports with a grain of salt – that Russia would have a department of UFOlogy. However, I remember the 1971 book by Sheila Ostrander and Lynn Schroeder, Psychic Discoveries Behind the Iron Curtain and in so doing remember that Russia took the psychic realm very seriously.

I tend to take these kinds of announcements with a grain of salt, nonetheless, here’s some interesting possibly true information on Russia’s Chief Scientist in UFOlogy:
The president of the Academy for Applied Ufology, Academician Vladimir Azhazha, is considered to be the founding father of the Russian ufology. He shared his knowledge of aliens with Mikhail Gorbachev and Boris Yeltsin, who subsequently confirmed his status as the nation’s chief scientist in ufology. The academician has recently marked his 80th birthday and is currently working on an extensive collection of books (ten volumes) devoted to UFOs. It goes without saying that the traditional science does not treat ufology seriously.

I’ve copied the following excerpt in its entirety because I found it entertaining, humorous and also thought-provoking.
Having lived in Phoenix for over six years, and having plied the Arizona highways to the high country every weekend in search of cooler weather during the stifling summer months, I can attest that there are endless stretches of totally barren countryside in this desert state.
If I was an alien in a spacecraft looking for a place to hide out unobtrusively, I think I’d choose the Arizona wilderness. If aliens truly did crash, I’m willing to consider that they went down in Arizona rather than in New Mexico.
This excerpt is from the Arizona Republic newspaper.
In 1947, just three weeks after the supposed UFO crash in Roswell, N.M., a flying saucer was reported to have crashed in the Dreamy Draw.
The Roswell aliens were supposedly taken to a secret government location in Nevada called “Area 51.” The Dreamy Draw is traversed by a highway called Arizona 51. Coincidence? As Mulder and Scully might say, “There are no coincidences.”
The story was first written about in 1952 in Behind the Flying Saucers, by author Frank Scully. Yes, Scully. Again, there are no coincidences.
According to the tale, the flying saucer crashed, leaving the dead bodies of two aliens, each about 4 1/2 feet tall, sprawled in the desert outside the craft. A local resident collected the bodies and kept them in his meat freezer until the men in black showed up to quiet any rumors and took the remains.
A second version of the tale has the saucer careening off the Dreamy Draw and coming to a halt in Cave Creek, where a local resident collected the remains and kept them in his freezer until the men in black – well, you get the picture.
Supposedly, the 455-foot Dreamy Draw Dam was built over the wreckage to prevent curious eyes from prying.
What rings true about the story is that the saucer crashed in 1947 and the dam was built in 1974 and we all know horror stories about government inefficiency. So it could be true.
Or, if you are a real paranoid conspiracy theorist, you might note that 74 is 47 reversed. There are no coincidences.

It turns out Australia has its share of UFO sightings. That would make sense since Australia, as I understand it, has vast stretches of desert and uninhabited areas. Nonetheless, the UFOs in this story occur where many people observe them.

Here’s a new twist. Usually UFO reports describe interviews with the people who saw the UFO. In this article, a tire store’s aerial advertising company dispels any conjecture that anyone saw a UFO admitting that it was their plane, with blinking lights, that , to some people, looked like an alien spacecraft.
ROSEVILLE, Calif., Nov. 25 (UPI) — An aerial advertising firm said one of its planes was the cause of reported UFO sightings over Roseville, Calif.
American Air Lights of Concord, Calif., said the plane, which was advertising the grand opening of a tire store, created the blinking lights that many residents identified Friday night as a UFO, KXTV, Sacramento, reported Tuesday.
“From a distance it looks unidentified, lights are blinking,” said Jason Frost, owner of American Air Lights. “You can’t read the words unless you’re in the target audience (below the plane).”
He said the free publicity from the incident is beneficial to his company.
“It’s good for us,” he said of the exposure.

More people believe in aliens and ghosts than in God, a new survey finds, according to a British newspaper.
People Said to Believe in Aliens and Ghosts More Than God | LiveScience
A survey of 3000 people found that 58 percent believe in the paranormal including supernatural encounters, while only 54 percent believed God exists. Women, more than men, are likely to believe in the paranormal.
The least likely group of people to believe in the paranormal were deeply religious people.
A Baylor University sociologist Christopher Bader said that a belief in the paranormal appears to be innate to humans. However, the type of supernatural encounters has changed. It used to be that people believed in gnomes and faeries. Now they believe in UFOs and aliens.

If you’re interested in UFOs, this is a very interesting article. There are also photos at Earthfiles.
Along the Ohio River, at the nexus of the borders of Ohio, West Virginia and Pennsylvania, a huge object said to be “about the size of a large shopping mall and parking lot” was reportedly sighted in the early morning hours of Friday, Oct. 24, by a military veteran who worked in the helicopter aviation field while in the military.

Recently, I had a discussion with some friends about crop circles. I thought crop circles were only in England and located close to Stonehenge. However, my friends insisted that crop circles had been found in many countries throughout the world. Not only that, they were sure that some had been found in the USA.
Well, wouldn’t you know it! My friends are right and I’m wrong!
Take a look at these images. They’re from Minnesota as reported on the Crop Circle Connector Web Site.
These images were taken in July of this year!!! They’re absolutely amazing!

I don’t know if this is genuine or merely the rantings of a madman, but this web site has a YouTube video promoting a $29.95 movie about a man named James Gilliland who says he has had contact with aliens. The movie is available at http://www.contacthasbegun.com. The YouTube video covers the following excerpt from a blog post on http://www.warthofthelichking.com (What is a Warth or a Lich King?). Anyway, this is interesting especially that the aliens, according to Gilliland, want to share with us their knowledge of how to achieve peace on earth.
This is the part that’s not covered, that’s not coming out – the fearlessness it takes to bring this message out to the public is not there in our mainstream media. Why is it that in Mexico, UFO sightings are a normal part of the news coverage? In France and England, the Government’s previously classified UFO files are starting to be disclosed. But in the US press, talk of extraterrestrials, UFOs sightings, crop circles, ETs and alien contact is still a joke, when discussed at all.
