The Myth of the Sorcerer Dwarf

I’m excited about speaking at the Edgar Cayce Forum tonight at 7:30 p.m. at Edgar Cayce’s A.R.E in Virginia Beach, Virginia. My topic is: The Yucatan Connection to Atlantis and Lemuria Using Cayce Clues and Mythology.

The talk tonight will include the description of mythological stories of the ancient Maya that illustrate influences from Atlantis and Lemuria.

Of course, there are many myths associated with the Maya. However, my favorite has to do with this magnificent structure, The Pyramid of the Sorcerer in Uxmal, Yucatan.

This magnificent photograph was taken by my husband, John Chapman. The late afternoon light shows the unusual contours of this pyramid.

I look forward to meeting you tonight. Come to the Edgar Cayce Forum and discover the myths of the ancient Maya and their connection with the Edgar Cayce readings.

Influences from Lemuria and Atlantis in Yucatan

Just thinking about my upcoming talk at the Edgar Cayce Forum in Virginia Beach, Virginia on September 29th, 7:30 PM. Numerous people who consulted Edgar Cayce for psychic readings on their past lives discovered they had had previous lifetimes in Lemuria or Atlantis. Some of these “entities,” according to Cayce, had also journeyed to Yucatan.

An Evening with Una Marcotte

Well, I regret that I did not make it to the Edgar Cayce Forum‘s wonderful event on Feng Shui, a topic dear to my heart, last night.

However, I did have a fantastic, productive afternoon and evening with Lemuria expert Una Marcotte, who is writing the book From Creation to Lemuria.

I enjoyed seeing a dear friend and business colleague.

The Atlantes and Atlantis

A coincidence or what! In Yucatan, among Mayan ruins, there are ancient statues that are supposed to be holding up the world called Atlantes. Is that Atlantes or Atlantis? Where did these Atlantes get their name? What difference, if any, is there between the pronunciation of Atlantes and Atlantis. It could very well be only a difference in interpreting the spoken word. They are probably the same word!

Wizardry takes over Lost Continent at Orlando

Is this a trend? Harry Potter is getting more interest than the Lost Continent . . . meaning, I supposed, Atlantis, at Orlando theme parks. Is this a trend for the world? Greater interest in Harry Potter than in Atlantis? Oh my!

According to the Orlando Sentinel:

Scott Smith, a professor in the University of Central Florida’s Rosen College of Hospitality Management, predicts that Universal will eventually opt to convert the rest of the Lost Continent section of Islands of Adventure into an expansion of Wizarding World.

Universal has already turned two Lost Continent rides into Potter-themed rides — the renamed Dragon Challenge and Flight of the Hippogriff roller coasters. That leaves only two significant attractions — Poseidon’s Fury and the Eight Voyages of Sinbad Stunt Show — to anchor Lost Continent.

One of a Kind? Harry Potter’s Success in Orlando Could Lead to More Parks

I guess ya gotta keep moving and changing those attractions to keep them customers comin’ back!

Is It the Lost “City” or the Lost “Continent” of Atlantis

In reference to my post yesterday in which I quoted in entirety a blog post by Edziomek, posted on May 27th, 2010 at http://community.history.com.

It appears that the author of the article differentiates between the lost city of Atlantis and the lost continent of Atlantis. In other words, the lost continent of Atlantis would have been at the location of the present-day Atlantic Ocean, whereas he proposes that the lost city of Atlantis was off the coast of Spain.

Searching for Atlantis through Genetics

Could the study of genetics possibly contribute to the quest for Atlantis? The following excerpt explains it:

We have clues from biology that link the Basques with some Native American tribes. The genetic link, though, shows a separation of at least twelve thousand years, and this is just right for our Atlantis Quest. The minimum date of genetic separation is that of Plato’s date for the destruction of that long, lost island empire.

7 Sides to the Atlantis Quest

The Basques are people who live in the region of Europe on either side of the border between France and Spain. Interestingly, they have a language that does not seem to be related to any known language on earth. Here is an excerpt from the Wikipedia article on the Basque language:

Little is known of its origins but it is likely that an early form of the Basque language was present in Western Europe before the arrival of the Indo-European languages to the area.

Basque Language

Could their language be derived from the Atlantean language? Could they be genetically related to the North American Indian because of their common origin: the lost continent, Atlantis, that once occupied the present-day Atlantic Ocean?

An Ancient Atlantean Relic or what?

Here’s an excerpt from an intriguing article chronicling the craziness that developed over an object found in the California desert. A ceramic cylinder surrounding a metal screw-like object fired people’s imaginations. It became known as the Coso Artifact with speculation that it could have been a relic of Atlantis or something left by aliens or even an artifact from before The Flood. It turned out to be a spark plug for a Model T or Model A Ford from the 1920s. The author of the article goes on to bemoan the gullibility of people:

The Internet, with its unique ability to elevate bogosity and cheapen fact, is awash with this stuff: video footage of underwater Atlantean “roads” near Bimini; engineering diagrams of Noah’s ark; evidence linking the “face on Mars” to the Pyramids of Giza and the Old Testament.

Archaeology from the dark side

So, which one are you? Are you one of the ones who would have thought that the Coso Artifact was probably an ancient Atlantean relic or are you the type who would assume it had to be something easily explainable by science or common sense?

Atlantis and Lemuria could Rise in a Pole Shift

Stephen L. Harrison responds to a description of William Hutton‘s Coming Earth Changes by saying:

Mr. Hutton believes that the poles cannot shift more than about 10 degrees, but that the mechanism of pole shift will be able to go units of the crust of the Earth up and down, to the point of causing parts of Atlantis to rise off the East coast and parts of Lemuria, a further “lost continent,” to rise in the Pacific. He refers to evidence from modern geology studies that indicate that both continents once existed.

Coming Earth Changes: Causes and Consequences of the Approaching Pole Shift

That would be pretty exciting – if parts of Atlantis and Lemuria rose again. According to one of Edgar Cayce‘s readings about the location of Atlantis, he said that the East coast of the U.S. once had been the coast of Atlantis. Wouldn’t that be amazing if land appeared off the Atlantic coast!
