Is a Pole Shift Imminent?

This article claims to be scientifically based. It examines NASA evidence, as well as other scientists, and comes to the conclusion that a magnetic (not physical) pole shift is imminent. Then, it asks questions about what to expect:

If trends can be used as parameters, scientists believe that we are fast approaching another magnetic pole shift, but not a pole shift in which the North or South Poles will switch locations with other continents on the Earth.

Global disruption in the way things go on Earth may also happen. Migratory animals and birds, both in the seas and on land, may experience disorientation. Our planet, itself, may be stripped off the protective field that shield us from destructive cosmic rays and planetary bodies. And if the crust of the our planet is displaced, scientists fear that we would plunge into the oceans. Entire cities, particularly those that lie in the coastal areas, may leave no trace of their existence on earth save for the remnants that are buried in the sea. Even the very existence of our civilization may hang by a thread. Our civilization could be likened with the lost city of Atlantis, engulfed by the seas, and forever lost.

Polar Reversal NASA – Pole Shift and Magnetic Pole Reversal

I found this a bit unsettling. I already knew that the magnetic poles were shifting and I also knew that the study of the magnetic field of rocks has shown that the earth’s magnetic poles have shifted numerous times in the past.

However, it didn’t occur to me to think that there might be consequences such as, according to this article, the possibility of the migration of birds and butterflies being sent off kilter or that the earth might be stripped of its “protective shield,” whatever that means.

An Ancient Atlantean Relic or what?

Here’s an excerpt from an intriguing article chronicling the craziness that developed over an object found in the California desert. A ceramic cylinder surrounding a metal screw-like object fired people’s imaginations. It became known as the Coso Artifact with speculation that it could have been a relic of Atlantis or something left by aliens or even an artifact from before The Flood. It turned out to be a spark plug for a Model T or Model A Ford from the 1920s. The author of the article goes on to bemoan the gullibility of people:

The Internet, with its unique ability to elevate bogosity and cheapen fact, is awash with this stuff: video footage of underwater Atlantean “roads” near Bimini; engineering diagrams of Noah’s ark; evidence linking the “face on Mars” to the Pyramids of Giza and the Old Testament.

Archaeology from the dark side

So, which one are you? Are you one of the ones who would have thought that the Coso Artifact was probably an ancient Atlantean relic or are you the type who would assume it had to be something easily explainable by science or common sense?

Intriguing Theories on Earth’s Axial Tilt and Atlantis

Here is an abstract previewing a very interesting article theorizing a huge impact off the coast of Antarctic as the cause of the sinking of Atlantis and the tilt of the earth’s axis.

It does remind me of another theory I read about, I think in one of Graham Hancock’s books, that Antarctica is actually Atlantis and that when the earth’s crust moved during a physical pole shift (not magnetic as has happened so many times in the past) that Atlantis ended up at the South Pole and froze over. He gives this explanation for the Piri Reis map showing contours of Antarctica which is presently under a mile-deep ice sheet.

Abstract: Using Google Earth and browsing the geographic appearance of the Earth’s crust starting from the South Pacific Ocean right above Antarctica and traveling over to Drake’s Passage and into the South Atlantic Ocean there seems to be a visual trace that some sort of cosmic collision occurred in that area. (See Figure 1) The impact of the object surfed across the ocean and collided with the bottom of South America where it once connected to Antarctica creating Drake’s Passage opening. This impact also may have had the kinetic energy to break the Earth’s crustal plate and create the fault lines (See Figure 3) in addition to changing Earth’s axial tilt (See Figure 2).[Report and Opinion. 2010;2(2):1-2]. Could a Giant Tsunami Have Submerged Atlantis?

Scientists at the Leibniz Oceanography Institute in Kiel, Germany have found indications that an extreme altercation in the earth’s surface occurred about 2,000 years ago.

According to the scientists, the edge of an African continental shelf broke off, scattering debris over 150,000 square kilometers across the deep Atlantic off the coast of Morocco, south of the Canary Islands.

This event could have set off a massive tsunami that some say impacted the lost city of Atlantis, believed to have existed in the Atlantic basin before being engulfed by the sea.

Atlantis Video of Google Maps Africa Scan

In a March 17, 2010 post on this blog, I had said:

“even Google Maps mappers thought they had found the underwater streets of the lost city of Atlantis off the coast of Africa until they realized that their mapping boat had made the marks.”

Well, now you can see a video of the Google Maps image of what might be Atlantis at this URL:

Well, what do you think? Is that Atlantis?

Lost City of Atlantis in South America?

Here’s a refreshingly unique take on the location of the lost city of Atlantis:

Due to continental drift it is easy to see that the western coast of Europe and Africa fit quite well against the eastern coasts of the American continents. This leaves no room for an island continent in the middle of the Atlantic ocean; but back when the tale of Atlantis was told nobody was aware of the American continents. It could be that Atlantis existed in South America. Many ancient stone structures incapable of carbon dating techniques lay in Bolivia and Peru.

In Atlantis the Pyramids Had Three Sides?

In a blog post entitled, The Lost City of Atlantis, Joe Schmidt claims that the Atlanteans had three-sided rather than four-sided pyramids. Following, please find an excerpt from his online article:

The Atlanteans powered their city with crystals that stored the Sun’s energy and stored information. The Atlanteans were the original pyramid makers and their pyramids had only three sides unlike the newer pyramids which had four sides.

Intriguing PC Game about the Lost City of Atlantis

This looks interesting – a computer game about an archeologist looking for descendants of Atlantis. I have to warn you, though, that if you go to the link below , the web site is full of very annoying, impossible to get rid of pop-ups.

Archaeologist Samantha Swift travels the globe searching for the lost tribes of Atlantis. The descendants of the lost city have spread out over the globe and each one holds a special key that, when brought together, can tune into the Senses and unite the tribal elders with the spirit world.

Mysterious Stone Spheres are a Map to Atlantis?

I love it how just about anything weird and inexplicable is often attributed to Atlantis. Take a look at the following excerpt. The rest of the article goes on to say that director of the University of Kansas’ Global Indigenous Nations Studies Program John Hoopes says that because of the mysterious nature of the huge spherical rocks, they have “inspired a lot of crackpot theories, most notably that the spheres are an archaic guide to Atlantis.”

I’d have to agree with Hoopes. How could anyone possibly get a map from these stone spheres?

The mysterious, almost perfectly spherical stone balls dotting the Costa Rican landscape may soon be up for UNESCO World Heritage status. But who built them circa 600 AD? Are they a map to Atlantis, or something even weirder?
