Paul Hawken, author of Spiritual Unrest, says that there are over a million groups worldwide that are quietly, and without central organization, addressing problems such as poverty, pollution, war, terrorism, and violence. These are nonprofit and citizen activist groups.
His findings bring hope to balance the fearful predictions for 2012.

This is great! The article by James O’Dea in The Mystery of 2012. This is something that I encounter all the time. People pick fights with other people, wallow in anger against other people, and complain about oppressive people in their lives. Some of them are even people who proclaim that they are loving and full of forgiveness.
Others do not. What’s happened to them? What’s made the difference? According to James O’Dea, it is because something has shifted in them. He believes something has shifted in them to “overcome inherited tendencies to hold on to judgmental feelings or fixations about others.”

James O’Dea, president of the Institute of Noetic Sciences asks:
If so, “You Were Born for Such a Time as This,” which happens to be the title of his uplifting article in The Mystery of 2012.

James O’Dea also says that 2012 will be humanity’s pay day. He says that the credit Nature has been extending to us will be maxed out.
Those of you who have read my first book, The Golden Ones, which became When We Were Gods know that while writing that book, Pan the Lord of the Wilderness appeared to me one night.
He said that the main thing we had to do to reverse this trend was to appreciate Nature. Go be thankful to that tree for supplying you with oxygen. Thanks the flowers for making your world so beautiful. Thank the vines for producing grapes. Consciously and with intent, beam your appreciation to this largely ignored and taken-for-granted living beings.

I like the title of James O’Dea‘s article in The Mystery of 2012.
In the midst of wild speculations of imminent spiritual enlightenment, devastating earth changes, expanding levels of consciousness, the annihilation of the human species, and the dawning of the age of Aquarius, O’Dea simply says, “You Were Born for Such a Time As This.”

Ervin Laslo, author of the Chaos Point, says that we are nearing a time in which we can choose either a more sustainable world or else we will see our civilization and ecological systems collapse.
In his “The Birthing of a New World” article in The Mystery of 2012, he says that in 2012 we will be at the “Chaos Point,” a time when we will either devolve to disaster or make a breakthrough to a new civilization.

I like how Sharron Rose refers to the Earth and Moon doing a dance in her “2012, Galactic Alignment and the Great Goddess” article in The Mystery of 2012.
In my hypnosis sessions, I had also said that the Earth and Moon do a dance, in this case, a dance that occasionally leads to extreme earth changes. I had said that a new world would emerge and that a new type of human could only appear after the earth cleansing.
Rose suggests that we look at the relationship of the earth and moon like a spinning “celestial barbell” in space rather than that the moon orbits around the sun.

I am fascinated by this “2012: The Galactic Alignment, and the Great Goddess” article by Sharron Rose in The Mystery of 2012. She is using ancient Egyptian mysticism and especially the Isis/Osirus/Horus myth to show the importance of 2012.
In one part of the article, Rose says that Isis and the Virgin Mary are associated with the moon. She goes on to talk about the 13-month-per-year lunar calendar used by many European alchemical traditions.
The 13th month is ruled by Ophiuchus, a constellation situated between Scorpio and Sagittarius. She says that Ophiuchus is right at the galactic center. But it isn’t since the galactic center is presently at the end, not the beginning, of Sagittarius and is therefore closer to Capricorn than Scorpio.
Nonetheless, I feel happy to learn that Ophiuchus is important in some ancient traditions since I was fascinated with the constellation while studying astronomy in college. Sagittarius looks like a teapot. Ophiuchus looks like smoke rising out of the spout of the teapot. Ophiuchus also looks like an undulating serpent.
Interestingly, Ophiuchus is called the “Serpent Holder.” The whole constellation is supposed to be a man holding a serpent. According to the online encyclopedia Wikipedia, the sun is in Ophiuchus from November 30 to December 17. That’s most of Sagittarius.

There are some who see 2012 as a benchmark for our inevitable demise unless we totally transform. Daniel Pinchbeck is one of them. Fortunately, in his book, 2012: The Return of Quetzalcoatl, he says that we are presently in the throes of a transformation in which we are uniting the heavenly attributes of intuition and spirit with the earthly qualities of rational and scientific thought. He believes that transformation can occur quickly so that we will thrive instead of come to our demise on earth.

In a The Mystery of 2012 article called, “A Vision for Humanity,” Barbara Max Hubbard, cofounder and president of the Foundation for Conscious Evolution and former nominee for vice president of the USA, says that she believes we are godlings in the making. She sees a future in which we will be universal human beings with our hearts connected to all of life and is awakened from within with the desire to express creativity for the good of the individual and also for all.
