Prediction 2012- BLACK HOLE at Milky Way Center

OK, in an earlier post I said that the Black Hole at the Center of the Milky Way galaxy is just a theory, according to some astronomers.

Well, it isn’t a theory to some other astronomers. They’ve taken a picture of it. OK, you can’t really take a picture of a Black Hole since even light is swallowed by its intense gravity. That’s why it’s called a “Black” Hole.

They can only take a picture of the area the Black Hole is in. Here’s a picture of the center of the Milky Way. The arrow shows the location of the Black Hole.

The photo was taken at the La Silla Paranal Observatory in the Atacama desert in Chile, which is in South America.

This is an amazing picture!!!

2012 – Milky Way and More Astronomy Photos

You can find more fantastic astronomy photographs at the NASA web site called, Astronomy Picture of the Day at http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/astropix.html or you can google “Astronomy Picture of the Day.”

When you get to the site, if you want to search for photos of specific sky images, scroll down to the bottom of the page. To search for a specific stellar object you can click on “Search.” To browse the archives, click on the “Archive” link.

Here’s the link to the web site:

Prediction 2012 – Milky Way Center

Here’s a link to a fantastic photograph of the Milky Way.

Sagittarius and the center of the Milky Way is about one third of the way up from the bottom of the photo.

Some people believe that the December 21, 2012 prediction has to do with the earth’s alignment with the center of the Milky Way.

This is a gorgeous photo. The Milky Way is very difficult to see except on dark moonless nights and only after your eyes have become accustomed to the darkness.

It is even more difficult to photograph because you need a very long exposure since the Milky Way is so faint. Because the earth keeps rotating during the exposure, the camera has to be on a sky tracking device that turns at a rate in sync with the apparent movement with the sky (it’s the earth that’s really moving). Here’s the photo:

Prediction 2012 – Maya Long Count Calendar

On December 21, 2012, the Maya new Millennium will begin. Or, anyway, some researchers have translated a very few ancient Maya texts as that date.

There is no Mayan Rosetta Stone. Therefore, the process of translating from Mayan to English has been long and laborious.

In the ancient Maya ruins of Coba, Yucatan, we did find and photograph a stele–a tall stone column with Mayan hierogrlyphics on it–that is supposed to have the date December 21, 2012 on it.
This is according to a booklet I bought at the bookshop near the ruins.

To me, the stele just looked like a weathered tall stone that used to have some kind of carvings on it. I got pictures of it, though.

Prediction 2012 – Sagittarius Black Hole

I’m at the Winter Star Party–a group of amateur astronomers. We come out here on one of the Florida Keys to find “dark sky” or a place where the sky is relatively dark because there is not a lot of city and street lights nearby.

This is a great group of people to learn from. I want to learn how to photograph the Milky Way. Some people (Gregg Braden is one of them, I think) believe the 2012 predictions have to do with an alignment of the earth with the galactic center of the Milky Way.

This center happens to be in the constellation Sagittarius. Some people believe there is a Black Hole at the center. However, in talking to the editor of Astronomy Magazine here, I’ve discovered that that’s only a theory.

It is NOT a theory, however, that when you look at the constellation Sagittarius, you’re looking at the center of the Milky Way galaxy.

More later,

Alaska Talk

Enjoyed my visit to Alaska where I spoke at the A.T.O.M Center (Ancient Teachings of the Masters)–a great place. I’ve spoken there before.

Felt really happy to discover that many people who are interested in Body/Mind/Spirit are also interested in the Virgin Mary, especially since that’s what my next book is about–a metaphysical approach to Mother Mary.
