Walter Quinone, author of Ancient Mayan Prophecies, says that the Aztecs inherited their calendar from the Maya. But the Maya did not say they were the originators of their calendar. Indeed, they said that their calendar had come to them from beings in their far, distant past.

In reference to Jose Arguelles’ 3rd Prophecy: He said that the sun will produce more radiation due to an increase in vibration, one of the causes of the earth heating up.
In reading 5757-1, the “sleeping prophet” asks:
“Then, why and how do the effects of the sun so influence other life in the earth and not affect man’s life, man’s emotions?”
Then, he continues by saying:
As the sun has been set as the rule of this solar system, does it not appear to be reasonable that [...]
Adrian Gilbert and Maurice Cotterell, co-authors of The Mayan Prophecies, believe the ancient Maya predicted that the magnetic field of the sun would reverse polarities causing the earth to shift on its axis leading to disastrous earth changes.
The sixth prophecy says that a comet will appear that will endanger mankind.

According to Jose Arguelles, the third Mayan prophecy has to do with the heating up of the earth. He says the ancient Maya predicted that the earth would heat up for two reasons.
These are Jose Arguelles’ interpretation of ancient Mayan prophecies. He says that the second one says that human behavior will transform as of a result of an eclipse on August 11, 1999 in which the earth was in the middle of a cross made by the planets of the solar system.
